It’s Alive: The Long Players 07/26/2008 - Mercy Lounge

Performing the Clash’s London Calling

Long Players 07/26/2008_Clash's_London Calling

The Long Players are a group of Nashville Musicians who get together from time to time to play a classic LP perfectly from front to back before a very appreciative, screaming Tennessee audience.

This is not your average cover band…not even close.

The Long Players is made up of the best of the best and call some of their “Best of Nashville” friends to help present their hard work.

Saturday, my friend Tammy and I were part of the happy lip-syncing crowd at the Mercy Lounge on Cannery Row cheering on this latest Long Players presentation.

Steve Allen, Steve Ebe, Brad Jones, Bill Lloyd, Randy Leago, and Jim Hoke are the Long Players’ core group. This past weekend, they called in their friends:

KENT AGEE from Jane His Wife, STEVE ALLEN, BOBBY BARE JR., PRU CLEARWATER, JOEL DAHL from De Novo Dahl, BOB EVANS from Austrailia’s Jebidiah, JAMES INVELTD, BRAD JONES, ZAC LINDSEY from Von Guarde, BILL LLOYD, TOM MASON, CHUCK MEAD from BR549, DAVE PAULSON from The Pink Spiders, DAVE PERKINS from Chagall Guevara, and WILLIAM TYLER from Lambchop and Lifeboy.

Not bad for a $15.00 ticket!

If you are ever in Nashville when the Long Players take the stage, buy a ticket, take the ride.

Peace,

z
