Tonight, I went to the Cannery Ballroom to see the Ten Out of Tenn show featuring 10 of the brightest rising stars on the
Each of the ten artists took turns coming to the front to present their songs while also offering musical and vocal support for the other artist on stage. It all played out like a big Songwriters in the Round and boy, what a fun couple of rounds.
My friends and I staked out real estate near the front of the stage, which was great. We were pretty front and center in order to see a trail of blood wind its way down Katie Herzig’s leg during her first songs. We were also there to get the humor when she came back onto the stage with a piece of toilet paper stuck to the shaving wound that was trying hard to upstage her.
All of the artist did an awesome job of presenting their songs to the mindful audience. As always, it was great being introduced to musicians I had not heard before such as Jeremy Lister and Andy Davis. It was also wonderful to be reintroduced to artist I have come to know and love such as Matthew Perryman Jones, K. S. Rhodes, and Katie Herzig.
This was the second Ten Out of Tenn put together by musician Trent Dabbs and his wife.
